This is the second one I have bought. The other one is about 3 or 4 years old.
End of season sale, could not resist the price. Have a smaller one with a different type of filter which is going to goodwill.
Run these continuously and they don't break down. Bought extra filters and am all set for next year. Now they both take the same wicking filter.

We bought this model 9 years ago and are very happy with it. It is now starting to "Squeak" I thing bearing are finally going... will purchase another on for future use....

I have had an older version of this for over 16 years and have been pleased with it's performance. The new one does just as well at getting humidity into the air. My low rating is based on the gross inaccuracy of the digital humidistat. I tried 3 separate units and they all had the same problem. The readout will not go above 38 to 40. Even though I have 2 dial type humidistats in my home that read around 60. I have a 1,600 square foot ranch with an open floor plan and by locating this in somewhat central location it does a great job on the whole house. Just make sure you by a humidistat along with it if you want accuracy

I bought this to replace the humidifier of another brand that blew a white powder all over the house and especially into the HVAC system. Furnace filter was filthy. This cool mist humidifier s quiet, efficient and most of all clean running. No more white powder. We are happy campers.
